Seeing their tiny fingers for the first time, chubby cheeks, and cuddling their squishy bodies. Fresh 48 sessions help you remember every detail.
You'll never forget the look on your toddlers face getting to meet their new baby brother or sister for the first time. Or the way their body curled as if they were still in your belly. These are a perfect addition to a maternity, newborn, or first year package to always remember those first few perfect moments with your babe.

Fresh 48s can be done in hospital or at your home if you have a home birth. The first step is to email to ensure we have availability for your due date & finalize the package details.
1. Say Hello
Babies births can be unpredictable. To schedule a fresh 48, you'll select your package, sign your contract, and then once baby is born we schedule the actual time. These take place any time in the first 3 days of life.
2. Schedule it
My approach to fresh 48 is very simple. They are lightly posed sessions with very minimal props. The focus is an intimate interaction with the immediate family and lots (and I mean LOTS!) of cuddles and close up detail shots. These are a fantastic way to document siblings and grandparents meeting for the first time!
3. Planning it
The day of your session I'll spend roughly an hour with your family. Capturing babies details, cuddles, and so much more. For in home sessions I have a moses basket and neutral color outfits, though I do prefer baby to be in a diaper to ensure we capture all the brand new features of your little one. If you have a special outfit for them to wear, we can absolutely incorporate it.
4. Your Session
After your session a digital gallery will be sent over where you can purchase additional prints + digital products. We love helping you create albums, wall art, and photo gifts for family!
5. Your Photographs

Every fresh 48 session includes a prep & style guide, private online digital gallery, as well as a design consultation for any additional prints or products ordered. Every session includes a set amount of digital images with the option to purchase more. All sessions include a print release for digital images included & purchased.

Maternity session
I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!
Family Session
Shanyn has been documenting our family’s milestones (Maternity, Newborn, family, minis) for the last two years and we are so grateful we found her! She is very easy to work with and the final images are always stunning and timeless. She helps you pose and provides guidance to make you look good which is so important. She is the best with little ones - our toddler loves her and always warms up to her quickly. Our sessions are always fun and she captures such a wide variety of photos, even during minis. For newborn sessions all you have to do is bring the baby to the studio and she takes it from there which is wonderful when you just had a baby and are exhausted. Shanyn also has a client closet full of unique dresses that photograph really well and you can try them on in the studio before your session. We can’t wait for our next session!
