Meet Tim. I've had the pleasure of capturing Tims family since his older brother was in his mamas tummy. Tim came in for his 1 year cake smash session and mama chose our timeless cake smash set up for her boy. This session is focused on your baby and will never go out of style. A huge part of being a photographer is creating. It goes without saying that creating cake smash sets are a huge passion of mine. Taking a few key words from parents and turning it into a beautiful set to celebrate your babies first birthday. Sets are always created from scratch and unless specifically requested, rarely duplicated. I want the cake smash to be as special as your little babe. Cake smashes are best book 6-9 months out and are included in our first year package.

While I absolutely adore a styled set, there is nothing that speaks to my heart more than the focus being on your babe. Our deluxe cake smash sessions are focused around the birthday star. With a coordinating cake always provided for my cake smash sessions in addition to a beautiful outfit. These sessions can be done in any color your heart desires. Deluxe cake smash sessions can only be done in studio.

Milestone sessions take place when baby is responding to their name and smiling. Sitter sessions take place when baby is actively sitting on their own, cake smash sessions take place around 11 months, and birthday milestones can take place any time you're ready to celebrate.

milestone session pricing
Milestones are for ages 6 months - 12 years old!
When you're ready to book your milestone or cake smash session, simply send an inquiry form and we will chat about package options and all of the fine details.
1. Say Hello
One we finalize packages, location, set options, and cake details - we will schedule your milestone or cake smash session. These take place in my mesa, Arizona studio Monday through Saturday. Milestone sessions are typically booked 3-6 months in advance, however we can often accommodate sooner appointments.
2. Schedule it
Planning your cake smash or milestone session consists of picking a theme, backdrop colors, cake, and outfits. This can be as hands on or hands off as you'd like. I have an entire prep guide that will walk you through the process of planning. If your baby has allergies, a cake can be made to accommodate date a dairy, egg, or gluten allergy at no additional charge.
3. Planning it
The day of your session you'll have prepped and prepared and now its time to celebrate! You'll arrive early to allow your baby to get used to the environment and then we will capture their milestone or cake smash session. These are baby led sessions, meaning we go at their pace. Some babies are done really fast while others need the full allotment of time.
4. Your Session
Immediately following your session we will view your images in studio together. You'll be able to select the images you want for your package and buy any extra digitals at this point. During this portion of your session you'll be able to view our albums, wall art, and all of the products we offer. Products are all available for an optional additional purchase.
5. Your Photographs
Your cake smash or milestone session is thoughtfully designed to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. You'll receive a comprehensive welcome and prep guide to help you feel ready and confident, whether your session takes place in my cake smash studio in Mesa, Arizona. At my studio you can relax and enjoy a treat + drink or watch us work our magic.
I recommend booking your cake smash or milestone session 3-6 months in advance by signing your contract and paying a $250.00 retainer. These sessions are ideally held 2 weeks prior to the milestone we are documenting. Each session begins with a personal consultation where we'll discuss your preferences and vision, ensuring the photos beautifully capture these exciting milestones!
On the day of your session, I'll guide you through various setups and poses, using a mix of natural and studio lighting to create stunning, timeless images of your child. Whether we are documenting their first birthday, a milestone, or more. You're in the right place.
After the session, we’ll review the images together in the studio. You’ll select the photos included in your pre-purchased package, with the option to purchase additional digital files, fine art prints, and other albums. Once final editing is complete, your images will be delivered via digital download.

Shanyn was absolutely amazing from the moment I inquired about her services to booking my maternity and newborn shoot with her. I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!

Amazing experience with Shanyn! This was our 3rd photoshoot with her! Breastfeeding milestone, 1st birthday cake smash & today personality portraits! She was patient with our wild 3 year old. Photos turned out amazing and a VERY quick turn around. We already got our final photos! Look forward to using her for other photos in the future!
