I've had the privilege of capturing family sessions since 2011. In that time I've perfected my style to create a family session that results in smiles, laughter, and lots of love & emotion. Throughout your session I'll help you with posing to look your absolute best. I'll fix your hair, tell (bad) jokes, and capture the love your family has for each other. Phoenix family sessions are available year round at either my studio or in the Arizona scenery.

Some families worry about needing to dress up for their session and that is just not the case. The Snow family is a perfect example of this! They came in the cutest outfits and while they're casual, they all looked SO good together. When styling your family session it's important to remember to wear outfits you'll be comfortable in. Even if they're jeans and a T-shirt.

I've never photographed an extended family session so sweet in my entire career. The Barro family contacted me to capture their entire family and I truly had a blast. Not only were they so easy to guide, they were so fun! Extended family sessions consist of a mixture of poses, mostly formal, to capture every combination we need. From large to small family groupings, I love capturing multiple generations!

The Prater family showed up ready to impress for their fall family photos. Matt + Kati Prater along with their kiddos Ava, Elle, Pax, and Kit are always so much fun to photograph. I've had the honor of capturing this family for the last few years (including Kits newborns!)
Their bold color selection looked so beautiful as the sun set over the mounts at the Salt River. If the Prater family taught us anything, it's to embrace color and textures!

The Family Experience
Family photo can be so stressful . Which is why we have gone above and beyond to create a process for you that is not only easy but fun. With over a decade of experience I will walk you through how to prepare outfits that are cohesive, comfortable, and look AMAZING. I'll provide a list of gorgeous east valley locations for you to choose from that provide a beautiful background for your family session.
During your Phoenix family session I will guide you and your family into perfect poses. Embracing all the different personalities, capturing your love for each other, and ensuring that each pose and image represents your family in a heartfelt way. By the end of your session, you'll be leaving with a smile on your face and realize that family photos just don't have to be so stressful.

The first step is to say hello! Head over to our contact form where we will discuss your vision, availability and how I can serve you best.
1. Say Hello
Once we determine that we are the perfect fit, we will schedule your session. This includes paying your booking fee, signing your contract, & selecting your date.
2. Schedule it
This is where the fun starts! Every session includes access to our amazing styling app for you to utilize to style your entire family. In addition to outfits we will also go through locations and select the best one for your vision. I have locations in the desert, at the river, or in the studio!
3. Planning it
The day of your family session we will have so much fun! I know that sounds impossible, family photos AND fun. I promise you, it will be a good time. I'll guide your posing, make sure your outfits are perfect, and capture the love you all have for each other.
4. Your Session
Proof galleries are sent to view 1 week after your session. At this point you can chose to purchase extra digital images, physical albums, and print packages. Once you make your final selection your final edits are delivered 2-3 weeks after your final selection. Physical products can be picked up in studio or hand delivered.

Sessions include a welcome & prep guide to help prepare you for your family session experience, a photography session at my Mesa, Arizona studio or at an east valley location, a private online viewing gallery with all of your final edited images, and a design and ordering consultation, online or in person. Phoenix family sessions include full access to our prop collection as well as client closet. Phoenix family sessions are designed to provide you with a carefully curated selection of digital images, ensuring quality and attention to detail in every image. Additional digital images, prints, albums, wall art, and more are available.

Maternity session
I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!
Family Session
Shanyn has been documenting our family’s milestones (Maternity, Newborn, family, minis) for the last two years and we are so grateful we found her! She is very easy to work with and the final images are always stunning and timeless. She helps you pose and provides guidance to make you look good which is so important. She is the best with little ones - our toddler loves her and always warms up to her quickly. Our sessions are always fun and she captures such a wide variety of photos, even during minis. For newborn sessions all you have to do is bring the baby to the studio and she takes it from there which is wonderful when you just had a baby and are exhausted. Shanyn also has a client closet full of unique dresses that photograph really well and you can try them on in the studio before your session. We can’t wait for our next session!
