There’s no need to bring anything to your newborn session. The studio is thoughtfully stocked with a curated collection of tiny beds, bowls, wraps, outfits, and props. All chosen to photograph beautifully while remaining timeless and gentle.
From soft textiles that add depth and texture to wooden crates, rattan chairs, metal beds, and neutral color palettes, each piece is selected with intention. Together, we’ll style sets that complement your home and nursery aesthetic, creating images that feel cohesive and personal.
Every item used during your session is carefully sanitized, safe, and sturdy for your baby. Your newborn’s comfort and safety are always the top priority, allowing the session to unfold in a calm, unhurried way.

For families who wish to document both pregnancy and the early newborn days, maternity and newborn sessions can be thoughtfully combined. Bundling allows your images to tell a fuller story, from anticipation to arrival, while keeping the experience consistent and seamless.
Planning both sessions together also creates continuity in styling, tone, and artwork, so your images feel cohesive when displayed or preserved. It’s a gentle way to honor this season as a whole, capturing not just individual moments, but the transition into a new chapter of your family’s life.
Most families choose to reserve their maternity and newborn bundle at the same time, ensuring everything is planned and stress-free. For maternity, I recommend scheduling during your second trimester—ideally between 28–33 weeks if you’re expecting one baby, and even sooner if you’re expecting multiples.
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled for the first 7–21 days after birth. By booking both sessions together, we’ll secure your dates in advance and guarantee availability during these precious milestones. While we often book 2–4 months ahead, I occasionally have last-minute openings—so never hesitate to reach out and check!

The day of your maternity or newborn session has finally arrived, and we’ll make sure it’s a calm and enjoyable experience. When you arrive at the studio, we’ll review your wardrobe selections one last time and ensure everything fits beautifully. From there, I’ll guide you through each pose and moment so you can relax and enjoy the process.
After your session, you’ll have the option to view your images right away in the studio, or—if you prefer the comfort of your own home—we can set up a convenient online viewing. Either way, you’ll be able to relive the experience and select your favorite images while the memories are still fresh.
4. Your Session
3 weeks after you select your images it's time to enjoy them! All digital images are sent via digital download. Prints and products can be picked up at the studio or hand delivered. For those who are having their maternity photos taken on their baby moon, their products will be mailed to them directly.

Your experience begins with a personal consultation, where we’ll discuss your vision, session style, and any special details you want captured. Newborn sessions are ideally scheduled within the first 21 days after birth, when babies are most relaxed and easily posed for those classic, peaceful portraits.
On the day of your session, you’ll enjoy a peaceful, fully guided photoshoot in a private, boutique studio setting. With expert posing support, carefully curated wraps and props, and masterful studio lighting, each image is thoughtfully composed to highlight your baby’s natural beauty and personality.
After your session, you'll receive an online personalized image reveal where you’ll select your favorite portraits. Additional digital images, fine art prints, and heirloom-quality products are available to beautifully preserve your newborn memories for generations. Every photograph is professionally retouched with exceptional attention to detail and delivered in a cohesive, stunning gallery.

When you are ready to talk about your Phoenix newborn session, simply submit a contact form. We will go over package options and availability. Once we determine that we have availability for your due date (or baby if they're already born) you will finalize a contract, pay your booking fee, and lock in your session. Most parents book their newborn session early in the second trimester to ensure we have room on our calendar. We only accept two due dates per week.
1. Say Hello
If your baby is already born, we will schedule your session right away. However, if you're pre-booking (which is always highly encouraged when possible) you will receive a link to book your actual session date to utilize when baby is born. We will not schedule any date until baby is already born to ensure that date works perfectly.
2. Schedule it
The planning process starts as soon as you book your session. We will discuss colors, props, poses, etc. Each session is tailored to you and your family. With that being said, all sessions are led by babies comfort level. I will only pose baby in a safe and comfortable manner. Not every baby loves every pose. My studio provides an array of props and outfits to ensure that however baby is most comfortable, we have that item available.
3. Planning it
The day of your session you'll arrive to my Mesa, Arizona newborn studio and we will create magic. During this session you can relax, enjoy snacks, and we will pose your perfect, newest addition. Sessions are done Monday - Friday at 9 or 10am.
4. Your Session
Immediately following your session, you can enjoy a coffee or treat on me while I prepare your newborn session images. We will view them together, in studio, to select your favorite images for a final edit. During this time you can purchase additional digital images or purchase any additional print products.
5. Your Photographs
Shanyn was absolutely amazing from the moment I inquired about her services to booking my maternity and newborn shoot with her. What I loved was she paid extra close attention to small details to ensure the photos were just right. She was fabulous with my newborn daughter and trusted her to take full control of the shoot. All of my photos came out beautiful!!! I highly recommend her services and her prices are very reasonable. As long as we live in Arizona we will be using her services for any and all future photos! I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!
