Meet Thomas J. The cutest 6 month old baby there ever was! This cute boy came to my Phoenix baby studio to capture his 6 month milestone pictures. Mom was wanting a timeless, classic portrait that would stand the test of time. Thomas is such a ham! And truly just so much fun to get to capture. Having a portrait that will never go out of style is so important.

It brings me so much joy when parents bring their second (and third, and fourth, and fifth!) babies back for their milestone portraits. Isabels big sister was in the studio just last year celebrating her first birthday and now I get to capture this cute girl! These timeless, classic, and simple birthday portraits are to die for. As a mother of five, I understand how full life can feel during your baby’s first year. Milestone sessions are designed to be simple and stress-free, with everything thoughtfully prepared ahead of time. From outfits that coordinate with the set to props and backdrops, the details are handled so you can focus on enjoying the moment - and yes, even leave the laundry to us.
Milestone sessions are typically scheduled when your baby is responding to their name and sharing those early smiles. Sitter sessions take place once your baby is confidently sitting on their own. First birthday sessions are usually planned around 11 months, while birthday milestones can be captured whenever you’re ready to celebrate. And if you simply want to document this stage just because..that’s always welcome, too.

When you're ready to book your milestone session, simply send an inquiry form and we will chat about package options and all of the fine details.
1. Say Hello
One we finalize packages, location, set options, and other fine details - we will schedule your milestone session. These take place in my mesa, Arizona studio Monday through Saturday. Milestone sessions are typically booked 3-6 months in advance, however we can often accommodate sooner appointments.
2. Schedule it
Planning your milestone session consists of picking a theme, backdrop colors, and outfits. This can be as hands on or hands off as you'd like. I have an entire prep guide that will walk you through the process of planning.
3. Planning it
The day of your session you'll have prepped and prepared and now its time to celebrate! You'll arrive early to allow your baby to get used to the environment and then we will capture their milestone session. These are baby led sessions, meaning we go at their pace. Some babies are done really fast while others need the full allotment of time.
4. Your Session
You have the option to view your images in studio immediately or receive an online proofing gallery. You'll be able to select the images you want for your package and buy any extra digitals at this point. During this portion of your session you'll be able to view our albums, wall art, and all of the products we offer. Products are all available for an optional additional purchase.
5. Your Photographs
Your milestone session is thoughtfully planned to feel calm and seamless from start to finish. Ahead of your session, you’ll receive a simple welcome and preparation guide so you feel comfortable and ready. Sessions take place in my portrait studio in Mesa, where you’re invited to settle in, enjoy a small treat or drink, and simply be present while your baby’s milestones are gently documented.
Milestone sessions are typically reserved a few months in advance and are best scheduled three to four weeks before the milestone you’d like to capture. Each session begins with a brief consultation so we can talk through your preferences and ensure the session reflects this season of your child’s life in a natural, meaningful way.
During the session, your child is guided at an easy, unhurried pace through a variety of simple setups using a blend of natural and studio lighting. Whether we’re celebrating a first birthday, a sitter milestone, or simply this stage as it is, the focus remains on personality, expression, and connection.
After your session, you’ll receive a private online gallery to view your images from the comfort of home. This allows you to take your time, revisit the photographs, and choose the images that resonate most with you. Final images are carefully edited and delivered digitally, ready to be cherished and shared.

I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!

Amazing experience with Shanyn! This was our 3rd photoshoot with her! Breastfeeding milestone, 1st birthday cake smash & today personality portraits! She was patient with our wild 3 year old.
