Your newborn session is thoughtfully designed to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. You'll receive a comprehensive welcome and prep guide to help you feel ready and confident, whether your session takes place in my newborn studio in Mesa, Arizona. At my studio you can relax and enjoy a treat + drink or watch us work our magic.
I recommend booking your newborn session when you are in your second trimester by signing your contract and paying a $250.00 retainer. Because we don't know when your baby will actually arrive, we don't schedule the actual session until your baby is born. Newborn sessions are ideally held when your baby is between 5-17 days old. Each session begins with a personal consultation where we'll discuss your preferences and vision, ensuring the photos beautifully capture these early moments.
On the day of your session, I'll guide you through various setups and poses, using a mix of natural and studio lighting to create stunning, timeless images of your newborn. Your newborn is in safe hands as I have over 10 years of experience and have certifications in newborn photography and newborn safety.
After the session, we’ll review the images together in the studio. You’ll select the photos included in your pre-purchased package, with the option to purchase additional digital files, fine art prints, and other albums. Once final editing is complete, your images will be delivered via digital download.

newborn session pricing
When you are ready to talk about your newborn session, simply submit a contact form. We will go over package options and availability. Once we determine that we have availability for your due date (or baby if they're already born) you will finalize a contract, pay your booking fee, and lock in your session.
1. Say Hello
If your baby is already born, we will schedule your session right away. However, if you're pre-booking (which is always highly encouraged when possible) you will receive a link to book your actual session date to utilize when baby is born. We will not schedule any date until baby is already born to ensure that date works perfectly.
2. Schedule it
The planning process starts as soon as you book your session. We will discuss colors, props, poses, etc. Each session is tailored to you and your family. With that being said, all sessions are led by babies comfort level. I will only pose baby in a safe and comfortable manner. Not every baby loves every pose. My studio provides an array of props and outfits to ensure that however baby is most comfortable, we have that item available.
3. Planning it
The day of your session you'll arrive to my Mesa, Arizona newborn studio and we will create magic. During this session you can relax, enjoy snacks, and we will pose your perfect, newest addition. Sessions are done Monday - Friday at 9 or 10am.
4. Your Session
Immediately following your session, you can enjoy a coffee or treat on me while I prepare your newborn session images. We will view them together, in studio, to select your favorite images for a final edit. During this time you can purchase additional digital images or purchase any additional print products.

While every newborn session package includes a base collection of digital images, my studio also provides the option to add on prints, albums, folio boxes, canvas, and wall art. When you enter my studio you'll see every beautiful piece we offer. You'll be able to feel the quality and see first hand how precious your images will be printed.
Capturing and printing these newborn portraits ensures that you can relive the tiny details—like your baby’s delicate fingers, kisses from their big siblings, and those sleepy, cuddly poses. Each printed photo becomes a keepsake, a piece of your family’s history that can be passed down through generations. These images tell the story of the beginning of a new life and the profound love and joy that comes with it.
Shanyn was absolutely amazing from the moment I inquired about her services to booking my maternity and newborn shoot with her. What I loved was she paid extra close attention to small details to ensure the photos were just right. She was fabulous with my newborn daughter and trusted her to take full control of the shoot. I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!

Amazing experience with Shanyn! This was our 3rd photoshoot with her! Breastfeeding milestone, 1st birthday cake smash & today personality portraits! She was patient with our wild 3 year old. Photos turned out amazing and a VERY quick turn around. We already got our final photos! Look forward to using her for other photos in the future!
