Your maternity session is designed with care to provide a seamless, enjoyable experience from start to finish. You’ll receive a welcome and prep guide to help you feel confident and prepared. Sunset maternity sessions are offered Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. These often book up 4 months in advance due to the limited availability. 

I recommend scheduling your maternity session when you are 27-33 weeks. Every maternity session begins with a personal consultation where we discuss your vision and preferences, ensuring your photos reflect exactly what you’ve always dreamed of. 

On the day of your photoshoot, I’ll guide you through a variety of poses and settings, using a blend of natural and studio lighting to highlight the beauty of your pregnancy.

After the session, you will receive an online proof gallery within 72 hours. Then you’ll choose the images included in your pre-purchased package, with the option to purchase additional digital files, fine art prints, and other products. Once final retouches are made, your images will be delivered shortly after.

As part of your maternity package you will receive access to an extensive guide that details all of my favorite locations.  This will include details on directions, entry fees, ease of access, and when it looks best! 

It is so important to me to ensure that your maternity photoshoot is perfect. And a big part of that is your location. Whether you are a desert girlie, prefer the river, or want to travel up north. We will work together to make sure you are in a terrain that is perfect for you!

Package includes travel anywhere in the Phoenix metro area. Additional charge for anything beyond a 1 hour drive from 85204. 

When you're ready to get the process started for your maternity session, the first step is to send an email. You can reach out via our contact form, sending an email to booking@shanynnicolestudios.com, or giving us a call (ore text for those who don't love chatting!)  at (480) 231-9880. This is when we will make sure we are available and the best fit for each other! 

1. Say Hello

Most expectant mothers schedule their maternity session early in their 2nd trimester. If you're having 1 baby, I recommend scheduling when you're 28-33 weeks along. If you're having multiples, I recommend scheduling your session sooner. While we typically book up 2-4 months in advance, we sometimes have last minute openings. Never hesitate to reach out and ask! 

2. Schedule it

After we schedule your session we will start planning your dream maternity session. We will go over outfits, locations if you're shooting outside, backdrops for in studio, and your vision. If you're shooting in studio we will go over optional add ons, such as hair & makeup as well as fantasy sets. Before your session you'll be sent guides to go over how to prepare best, including what to bring (and what not to bring). 

3. Planning it

The day of your session has finally arrived and you cannot be more excited. Upon arrival we will go over the outfits a final time, ensure everything fits perfectly, and I'll guide you through each pose. For in studio sessions, we will immediately view your images together after your session. Sunset sessions will view their images at the studio the days following their session.

4. Your Session

3 weeks after you select your images it's time to enjoy them! All digital images are sent via digital download. Prints and products can be picked up at the studio or hand delivered. For those who are having their maternity photos taken on their baby moon, their products will be mailed to them directly.

Don't worry about having to buy extravagant clothes for your maternity session that you may never wear again. We have everything you'll need to feel beautiful and confident during your maternity session. Whether that is in the studio or outside! Over 100 selections for all body types. We offer sizes from XS - 3XL. psst, you are also welcome to bring your own items! 

Shanyn was absolutely amazing from the moment I inquired about her services to booking my maternity and newborn shoot with her. What I loved was she paid extra close attention to small details to ensure the photos were just right. She was fabulous with my newborn daughter and trusted her to take full control of the shoot. I cannot recommend Shanyn enough! Need a feel good shoot? Boudoir? Family? Maternity? Cake smash? She’s done it all for my family and every time I come out shocked at the result. Our last family session was about 20 minutes because my kids wouldn’t stop crying, it was chaos, no one was participating and I even cried because I was so frustrated. But then Shanyn delivered a full album of photos that I couldn’t even believe how she was able to make us look that put together. She is our forever photographer!
