Over the years, I’ve captured some of the sweetest newborn sessions for babies with Down syndrome in Phoenix. I believe it is important for parents to know that no matter your babies abilities, they are always welcome in my studio. When picking a newborn photographer for a baby with Down syndrome – you should make sure they’ve worked with babies with similar abilities before. Different abilities have different risks during poses, different limitations. Newborn safety is always first when it comes to newborn sessions.
I don’t typically show before and after pictures – but this one feels important. A baby with down syndrome is going to typically have less muscle mass than a baby without. This means posing needs to be done very carefully. During Adonis’ newborn session, my assistant kept her hands on him for many poses. Most newborn poses we would not usually need full hands on. Newborn sessions for babies with Down syndrome in Phoenix are a specialty. I am so proud to be able to offer that.

If you’ve ever met a child with Down syndrome – you’ll know that they are actually earth angels. Adonis is no different.

Often moms will bring their child to me when they are a bit older saying they didn’t even know their baby could have newborn photos too. And that makes my heart sink. I’ve spent years learning how to capture babies of all abilities in Phoenix. Often babies with Down syndrome will have a little bit of a NICU stay after birth – and that does not change that they can come in for a newborn session. I often capture newborns up to 6 weeks of age – and if they are born premature – we have more wiggle room as to when their newborn session can take place.
The best time to book your newborn session with our Phoenix newborn photography studio is early in your second trimester.
