I wanted this year’s set to have that same feeling.
The Holiday Heirloom Set is soft, cozy and filled with little details without becoming overly themed or trendy. I wanted to create a space that feels like Christmas morning. A space that gives us so much more to photograph than everyone standing in front of a Christmas tree smiling at the camera.
A Timeless Christmas Photography Set in Mesa, Arizona
This year’s Christmas picture set is filled with flocked Christmas trees, creamy whites, warm wood tones. Soft textures and little touches of traditional Christmas red. There are vintage-inspired rocking toys, a wooden sled. wrapped presents, cozy blankets, a Christmas drum and tiny details tucked throughout the entire space.
I love building sets that give children things to actually interact with. Your little one can climb onto the rocking horse, snuggle into the blankets. Play with the drum, investigate the presents or curl up next to you. We will absolutely get those beautiful photographs of everyone looking at the camera, but the magic usually happens somewhere in between. That’s where I get the toddler belly laughs, the baby curled into Mom’s chest, siblings playing together and all of those little expressions that actually feel like your children.
What to Wear for Your Phoenix Christmas Photos
This might be my favorite part of this particular set because so many colors are going to photograph beautifully here. The neutral foundation was intentional. With creamy whites, snowy greens and warm wood tones surrounding you, your wardrobe can completely change the finished look of your Phoenix Christmas Photos.
If you love a classic Christmas look, deep burgundy, cranberry, rich red. My favorite forest green and emerald are going to be absolutely beautiful. Those deeper colors will pop against all of the creamy whites and flocked trees while still feeling elegant and traditional.
For something softer, think cream, oatmeal, camel, champagne, dusty rose, muted mauve or soft brown. These colors will blend beautifully into the set and give your gallery that warm, cozy, almost storybook Christmas feeling. Chocolate brown, rust, deep plum, navy and even black mixed with warm neutrals would also look incredible if you prefer something richer or moodier.

I don’t want your Christmas session to feel like 15 minutes of telling your children to sit still and smile. Little kids aren’t supposed to be good at that, and I don’t expect them to be.
Instead, I want to give them room to play and explore while I guide you through everything we need. We can cuddle on the bed, play with the rocking toys. We will pile everyone together, tickle the kids and let them move. I’ll still guide you into the photographs I know you’re going to want for Christmas cards and frames, but your children don’t need to perform perfectly for me to create beautiful photographs.

Why I Call It the Holiday Heirloom Set
The word heirloom was intentional. I don’t want these to only be cute Christmas photos you post this December and forget about by January. I want them to become part of the collection of photographs your children grow up seeing every Christmas.
One year they’re tiny enough to sit on the little rocking reindeer. A few years later their legs are hanging off the sides. Eventually they’re too big for it altogether.
That’s the part we’re actually documenting.
The Christmas trees and decorations create the magic around you. The real reason for these photographs is your family exactly as they are this Christmas. The little hands, missing teeth, baby curls, chubby cheeks and the child who somehow grew six inches since last year’s Christmas pictures.
Someday, those are going to be the details you wish you could walk back into for just a minute.
