For their desert family photo session, this blended family of 7 showed up ready to impress. Even if the weather initially wasn’t perfect by the end of the session it was AMAZING! Blended families can sometimes pose challenges. From how to dress your blended family, how to pose, and make sure everyone smiles. Challenges are THERE!

When dressing your family for your portrait session the goal is coordination. We want to avoid matching completely with large groups! And SHOES MATTER! Literally, they can make or break a session. Even if you wash your favorite pair or pick up something simple from Target. Avoid ratty old shoes, tennis shoes, or anything that’s going to distract from your family’s smiling faces.

How long has it been since you had a professional family photo session?

Well, aren’t they just the cutest family? I always love when we have a big kiddo and a little kiddo sibling set. I think there is something so magical about their bond and interactions. Having my own kids with a 10-year gap, my mama’ heart sings!

This amazing family drove all the way up from Casa Grande for their session. This is hands down my favorite desert location. This location gives you a gorgeous mixture of cacti, mountains, and scenery. And at sunset (or even sunrise!) That sun hits just right. You truly cannot go wrong here.

This was such a fun outdoor family portrait session. What does life look like with 4 under 4 you ask? Sometimes it’s two screaming 2 years old’s. With a mom whos positive we got no good photos.

Sometimes you have to adjust your expectations for the little humans. 2 year old’s do the best their 2-year-old brains let them. But one day those two-year-olds won’t need to be held. And loved so much. And you’ll look back and cherish these moments that they were clinging to you.

In the moment so many of our mothers feel like they got nothing useable or worthy during their session. I have never, ever walked away from a session without deliverables! The moments you feel are not the moments I feel. There is so much in between. Those are the moments I am here to bring you.

Also, let’s chat about moms outfit! She threw on a leather jacket to make this SO versatile! Easily removing it for a change. Jackets are such a fun addition. I have a ton at the studio you’re even welcome to use! Our client closet is available for all of your sessions.

Meet Milo – The cutest little guy EVER! He came in and rocked his deluxe newborn session in actual record time. Our deluxe newborn sessions are shot in our studio Tuesday – Friday at 10:30 am. Our newborn studio focuses on the safety and comfort of not only your newborn baby but you and your whole family! We provide all we will need for your session, snacks, drinks, and access to our closet.

” When should I book my newborn session?” This is one of our most asked questions! Most moms book their newborn session in their second trimester. When you book your newborn session you’re only booking a spot on a list. For 2023 I am only shooting 5-7 newborns per month in order to ensure I have enough time with my own babies! Once your babe is born, you’ll reach back out, and we will schedule the actual date.

Our deluxe newborn sessions consist of two hours of shooting. In this time frame, we typically have time for 2 colors of fabric on our table (where we do the naked shots) and 2-4 props. Depending on the baby we have time for more or less. In addition, we typically have time for 2-4 parent poses as well! Our deluxe package includes 15 images with the option to purchase more.

Poppy is a true ray of sunshine! We had the sweetest time with her for her petite cake smash. Our petite cake smash creates a perfect gallery for your babes first birthday. Though small, our petite cake smash package comes with everything you need! Cake, backdrop, and access to our client closet. No washing caked clothes for you!

For 2023 we will be accepting 5 cake smashes per month. We are booking through December 2023! It is never too early to book your smash. If you have a babe turning one, let’s chat!

When to book your Gilbert newborn session?
When to book your Gilbert newborn session? This is my most commonly asked question. We don’t know exactly when the baby is going to come. How do we plan?

When to book your newborn session

Because of that unknown factor, we won’t set the actual date for your session until your baby is actually born. That does not mean that you should wait until the baby is born to contact me. It’s actually quite the opposite. Our studio only accepts 10 newborn due dates per month. This is because we don’t want to overbook ourselves and not have an opening when your baby is born.

Most parents book their newborn sessions in their second trimester. And it is okay if you don’t know what package you want when you book your session! All you need to do is place the retainer, $150.00, to hold your spot on our calendar. This retainer fee is deducted from your total package when it is due at your session.
