Getting Your Proof Gallery Of Studio Maternity Photos

When you take your studio maternity photos it’s a multistep process to get your images back. First step is a proof gallery! A proof gallery showcases the best images from your sessions, unedited, so that YOU can choose the images you want edited. As much as I’d love my favorite images to be your favorite images, they never are. I want to make sure you have the option to pick the images you love best from your session to have fully edited to print. Here are some examples on what you can expect from a proof gallery and what it looks like in a final edited image.

It’s easy to think that everyone comes in with perfect skin that is flawless. The truth is most of this is done in post process, aka, editing! And fear not, if you don’t want your skin to be photoshopped to this degree, we are happy to leave you a bit more natural. This is something that would need to be communicated PRIOR to the editing process. My goal with your maternity session is to bring your perfect vision to life. However that may look!

Studio maternity is a little different than our outdoor maternity sessions. We focus on a high end, power vibe. We want you to look as powerful as you feel! Bringing a new baby into this world is a lot of work, and you’re doing it!

Next up is your backdrop. This is almost ALWAYS adjusted and extended in photoshop.

She is magic. And so much more!

This sunset maternity portrait session was really so much fun. This mama, dad, and big sis showed up ready! Mama wore dresses from our client’s closet. Which makes your day SO easy! Providing gowns for your session takes the stress off of your plate. Never worry about buying a dress (or dresses) you’ll never wear again!

With your session, a 30-minute consultation is included with your session. This allows you to come in about 3 weeks prior to your session to try on dresses and make sure you find something you love. This is for our studio maternity sessions and outside sunset maternity sessions.

This deluxe maternity session took place at my favorite location in Mesa. The weather lately here in Arizona has been so wild. Leaving our desert filled with lush greenery! It’s truly a dream. I just cannot believe we live in such a beautiful place!

Mesa, AZ Petite Newborn Session

She put up a fight during her petite newborn session, but we won! This sweet girl was not super interested in sleeping for her petite newborn session. But eventually, at the 11th hour, she passed out and we made mamas dreams come true! This pink and neutral color pallet was really so much fun to put together. It will flow so beautifully in an album or with wall art!

Our petite newborn sessions are best done 7-14 days after the baby has been born. All of our newborn sessions are done in our studio located in Gilbert and Southern in Mesa. With all of our newborn sessions, you have access to our HUGE collection of props and accessories. Just show up with baby! Banx – Gilbert, AZ Cake Smash Session

You may recognize these two in this cake smash session from IG. Alex and Kellz reached out for me to photograph their sweetest son Banx! We added on family portraits prior to the cake smash and truly, they’re all so amazing. Banx was showing off his best serious face with some hints of smiles in between.

Our deluxe cake smash is ALWAYS the best time. With portraits prior to the cake smash, a styled set, and just enough pictures to complete a memorable photo album. Alex added on family portraits prior to some portraits of Banx alone. Brick room sessions are perfect any time of the year. Too hot? We have A/C! Too cold, we have the heater!

When creating your cake smash session, cohesiveness is key. Choosing sets and colors that flow together to create a seamless look without perfectly matching! I am currently booking cake smashes through January 2024. With our first-year package, you get first access to our calendar! When To Book Your Cake Smash Session

Thinking about planning a cake smash session for your baby’s 1st birthday?

Does your babe have a birthday coming up? Let’s celebrate in style! The best time to book your cake smash is really dependent on your need for the images. If you’re wanting the cake smash pictures back to display at a first birthday or to use for invitations, you’ll want to book the session for when the baby is around 11 months old. If you want to capture the true 1-year-old essence, book closer to their first birthday.

All of our cake smash sessions are totally custom. This means your ideas come to life with planning, my expertise, and a custom cake from our baker! In addition to your styled cake smash set, we also do portraits on a classic background with our deluxe and all-out cake smash. This can be any color you’d like, and we have so many to choose from, with outfits to coordinate for each one.

When you book your cake smash you will get a questionnaire that goes over your vision. This is your time to get as specific as you’d like for your cake smash. After your questionnaire is submitted, and prior to your session, we will send you helpful tips on how to prepare for your session. Not every baby loves cake right away, but don’t worry we will help you prepare.

Most parents book their babe’s cake smash 3-6 months prior to the session date. This allows enough time to plan, order any props I may need, and prep your babe for their session! This is a time to celebrate. We are here to make this as fun and easy as possible.

Let’s Talk Newborn Sessions

Having a baby soon? Newborn sessions are a must!

These sweet daddies came all the way from Colorado to adopt this sweet baby girl. What a blessing! These daddies are so in love with their new baby girl. She was so much fun, you can see her personality in them for sure!

Our newborn studio is located in Mesa, Arizona. We have a 1,100 sqft commercial studio with three dedicated shooting areas. Perfect for studio work, as seen below, or natural light sessions in our brick room! Our studio provides it all. From wardrobe, props, and headbands galore for babies. To even shirts, dresses, and outfits for the whole family.

When planning your newborn session, it is imperative to reach out and book in your second trimester. Our goal is quality over quantity. This means we only take a handful of each session type every month. We want to ensure we have the time to dedicate to our clients while still making sure we have time for our own babies.

Our most common question is “How do we book when we don’t know when the baby will be born?” Which is a great question! The answer is quite simple. We do not book the actual date of your newborn session until your baby is born. This prevents the stress of having to potentially reschedule. Once they’re here you will use the link sent during booking to our online calendar. Then that is it! Time to capture your perfect babe.

In the time between booking and shooting, we plan! We encourage you to go to our Instagram and website to check out our work. Save the images on IG that you love and send them to us when the time comes. We will send you how to prep, what to expect, and what to bring. By the time of your session, you will be totally ready to rock this out with us.

During your session, you will have the chance to sit, enjoy snacks, and let us do the hard work. Our sessions are done with two people (Myself, Shanyn…and my assistant!) which ensures the baby is always safe. We always start with the baby and then at the end photograph the family. After your session, you are sent information on the next steps. How to pick your images, how to purchase prints, and more!

Maternity perfection? I think so.

Of course, all of my clients are *truly* perfect. I am not sure how I got so lucky to get such beautiful women here non-stop. I love the simplicity of this session. Focusing on the glory of her pregnancy, you can feel her love for this sweet boy.

Chelsey decided to wear our beautiful mauve gown, utilize a flowy white fabric, and brought a body suit and jeans for a more casual look. This deluxe maternity session was exactly what she was hoping for and we brought her vision to life! Our deluxe studio maternity session is an hour long which typically provides time for 3-4 outfits with a backdrop for each one.

You can find out more about our deluxe maternity session here on our services page! Most mamas book their maternity sessions around 20 weeks gestation. This gives you plenty of time to while ensuring there is room on our calendar. I recommend shooting your maternity session around 30-32 weeks gestation. If you’re due with multiples I recommend 28-30 weeks!

For their desert family photo session, this blended family of 7 showed up ready to impress. Even if the weather initially wasn’t perfect by the end of the session it was AMAZING! Blended families can sometimes pose challenges. From how to dress your blended family, how to pose, and make sure everyone smiles. Challenges are THERE!

When dressing your family for your portrait session the goal is coordination. We want to avoid matching completely with large groups! And SHOES MATTER! Literally, they can make or break a session. Even if you wash your favorite pair or pick up something simple from Target. Avoid ratty old shoes, tennis shoes, or anything that’s going to distract from your family’s smiling faces.

This family chose our ALL OUT package which includes a full gallery. All of your final edited images are delivered in a gallery for you to download, print, and do whatever you’d like!

How long has it been since you had a professional family photo session?

Well, aren’t they just the cutest family? I always love when we have a big kiddo and a little kiddo sibling set. I think there is something so magical about their bond and interactions. Having my own kids with a 10-year gap, my mama’ heart sings!

This amazing family drove all the way up from Casa Grande for their session. This is hands down my favorite desert location. This location gives you a gorgeous mixture of cacti, mountains, and scenery. And at sunset (or even sunrise!) That sun hits just right. You truly cannot go wrong here.

This was such a fun outdoor family portrait session. What does life look like with 4 under 4 you ask? Sometimes it’s two screaming 2 years old’s. With a mom whos positive we got no good photos.

Sometimes you have to adjust your expectations for the little humans. 2 year old’s do the best their 2-year-old brains let them. But one day those two-year-olds won’t need to be held. And loved so much. And you’ll look back and cherish these moments that they were clinging to you.

In the moment so many of our mothers feel like they got nothing useable or worthy during their session. I have never, ever walked away from a session without deliverables! The moments you feel are not the moments I feel. There is so much in between. Those are the moments I am here to bring you.

Also, let’s chat about moms outfit! She threw on a leather jacket to make this SO versatile! Easily removing it for a change. Jackets are such a fun addition. I have a ton at the studio you’re even welcome to use! Our client closet is available for all of your sessions.
