There is truly no better job than this right here. I don’t let a day go by without recognizing what a gift it is to capture your babies. My photography studio is a place where so many newborns spend their first days. Sometimes it’s the very first time these babes have left the house! Other times I’ve gotten to be the first to meet them. It’s always such a beautiful gift to get to be a part of your families life. It’s my goal for Phoenix parents who want a simple newborn photography session to have a comfortable place to spend their days as a new parent.

The Childhood Chronicles: Our new favorite way to capture Phoenix mini sessions.

Mini sessions in Phoenix is where I really started. I got my first camera almost 18 years ago to capture my oldest daughter Annika. Simply to take fun photos of her outside. Fast forward 16 years, my daughter Story was born in October of 2023 – and I knew that I wanted to find a way to capture her first year in a unique way. I wanted to see her changes – but nothing too elaborate. I wanted the focus to be on her. That Christmas I took her to the studio for the very first capture – the infamous Christmas bow as you see above. I repeated it with different colors, headbands, hats, and glasses through the year. For New Years eve, Valentines day, 4th of July. You name it. We captured the first year and it was truly my favorite thing. And that brings us to now, my introduction to the best Phoenix mini sessions we have offered yet!

Welcome to my Phoenix portrait studio where my goal is to capture childhood in a timeless and magical way, preserving each unforgettable moment for you to treasure forever. And that is where The Childhood Chronicles come into play. The response I received from Storys portraits made my heart melt. I wasn’t sure that I would want to offer them during her first year. Now that my sweet girl is 14 months, and I have decided I loved them that much. It’s now time to open it for your kiddos very own Phoenix Milestones

Here is how it works.

Each month I have a different color backdrop with a few small props (a hat, headband, glasses, etc) that coordinate with that month. These sessions are fast. Just a few moments. Enough to have fun and get some sweet moments of your babe. The package includes 2 images with each month. You can purchase a full 12 months OR you can do just a single month. Much like my micro minis that I offer at Christmas time – you’ll have the chance to purchase more images. If you have siblings, bundles are available.

When to book your maternity portraits

The majority of my mothers book their maternity session when they enter their second trimester. I recommend booking your editorial maternity session (or fine art maternity session) when you are 28-32 weeks pregnant. This is the sweet spot where you have a cute belly but you aren’t too swollen and tired yet. It’s still easy to maneuver as well! Additionally, the longer you wait the more of a chance you run of an early delivery and not getting your maternity session at all. I’ve had that happen to a few clients and it’s always so sad!

We did the studio and Lost Dutchman State Park for two very different vibes.
